The care of hedges is a pleasing aspect of arboriculture because a retained hedge is a wonderful environment for wildlife, and a well maintained hedge is far preferable to hard landscape alternatives .

Sometimes a hedge can get away from its owner and become problematic and invasive , the sad fact is many hedgerows are removed because of this, resizing is a great option for some species, bringing the hedge back into a manageable state.
